Greenvia Building: a benchmark in sustainability in the Barcelona office market

If you have arrived to Barcelona through the Gran Via de l’Hospitalet, you might have noticed from your car the construction of a new development projectGreenvia. These state-of-the-art offices are in a strategic location, originally conceived to enhance the well-being and productivity of employees.

Its façade maximizes natural light, with an exceptional lobby in fourfold height welcoming visitors and workers. But what stands out the most is its 4,000 sqm terrace, focused to help switch off and relax in a natural environment, to promote sports practice or the organization of open air events. This space was thought to go beyond a workspace, it is a meeting point to share experiences and synergies between teams.

Green is the leading color throughout the building, reflected on its various types of gardens, thus generating an extraordinary work environment. Office spaces are intermingled with vegetation, providing exceptional views, natural light and contact with nature.

The building's spaces are wide, open-plan with no columns, which allows them to be distributed in several different ways, allowing to adapt to the needs of each tenant. It is divided into a large 3,890 sqm ground floor and a 2,462 sqm top floor. In addition, there are direct exits to the terrace and to two remarkable gardened courtyards.

Sustainability, health and well-being

The Greenvia Building has the pre-certification LEED GOLD and WELL GOLD. The first certification is one of the most important ratings that certain high performing buildings can request in order to demonstrate their efforts to create healthy, liveable and sustainable spaces. The second one monitors features of the built environment that impact human health and wellbeing.

The facilities were designed to be energy efficient and have as little environmental impact as possible, in all the cycles of its design, even from the start of the construction structure. This makes workspaces healthier and more productive. An increase in wellbeing in the work place encourages productivity, and promotes satisfaction and a sensation of happiness among the work space.

Micro mobility is another of the key points in Greenvia Building’s design. It has bicycle parking, parking and electric charge for scooters and locker rooms with showers for employees. The objective is also to promote a sustainable way of transportation that respects the environment. This complex is integrated with the public transport network, with excellent connectivity to buses, subway, Ferrocarriles and the RENFE Cercanías trains, all of which are accessible in a few minutes’ walk.
