During the course of 2018 the Consulting firm has brokered more than 10.000 sqm together with the largest coworking operators like Attico, WeWork, Cloud Coworking, and has hired more than 250 working spaces for coworkers.
Forcadell specializes in coworking and launches an online platform, Forcadell Coworking, for working spaces together with the most important operators in Barcelona. Facing the growing demand that companies of all sizes have in order to find flexible working spaces, Forcadell has decided to focus into this market niche and create a subdivision in its Office department, devoting a whole team to the coworking sector.
According to Manel de Bes, director of the Office Department of Forcadell, “coworking in Barcelona has been growing exponentially for two years now, and continues to present positive perspectives for growth looking into the next financial years. We have to keep in mind that millennials are going to represent 75% of the Spanish active population. This is a generation that values flexibility, comfort, innovation, synergies regarding their work environment… Everything that coworking options are offering them in the present moment.”
The consulting firm has worked in recent years with the most important coworking operators in the European market, proof of its clear commitment to offices with organizational models that are adapted to the needs of each company and that value the welfare of employees, favoring synergy between professionals and sectors. In fact, throughout 2018 Forcadell has brokered more than 11.000 sqm with coworking operators such as Aticco, WeWork and Cloud Coworking. Furthermore, and on the other side of the business, Forcadell has hired up to 250 work spaces for coworkers. Currently coworking represents 15% of the Office department turnover, and according to Manel de Bes, “following this path, and if the market continues to show such a positive dynamic, our forecasts expect that it could represent up to 30% in 2019.”
“Coworking implies a change in mentality for the sector: we are no longer buying and selling sqm but work spaces” explains de Bes. Forcadell’s online platform, Forcadell Coworking, shows its users the different spaces that the consulting firm brokers –from WeWork, Aticco, OneCoWork and Utopicus among others- with the characteristics and advantages of each one of them, offering advice service in the search for the best coworking space to each client, taking into account the location, the services, the budget, the environment and scalability, the community and companies that are located in that building.
