FORCADELL took an active part in the Business Summit held in Barcelona on July 9 and 10, a strategic gathering promoted by Foment del Treball, CAEB, CEV, and CEOE Aragón, with the aim of strengthening economic and social cooperation between Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, the Valencian Community, and Aragon.
With a combined weight of 32% of the Spanish population and 34% of the national GDP, the main economic and social stakeholders from the four territories worked together to consolidate a Mediterranean axis capable of boosting competitiveness, innovation, and sustainability.
In this context, FORCADELL played an active role in one of the most pressing issues addressed during the Summit: housing.
FORCADELL’s CEO, Ivan Vaqué, took part in the sectoral session dedicated to housing—one of the central topics of the Summit—which brought together representatives from the business and institutional sectors of the participating territories. The housing access crisis was identified as a key challenge that affects both the well-being of citizens and the economic appeal and social cohesion of the regions.
During the session, discussions focused on the lack of affordable supply, the need to renovate the existing housing stock, the integration of sustainability criteria, and the importance of establishing stable regulatory frameworks that encourage private investment with legal certainty.
FORCADELL’s contribution focused on sharing specialized knowledge and a sectoral perspective built on more than 65 years of experience, emphasizing the importance of a coordinated approach between public administrations and private initiatives to address the major housing challenges.
The Summit made it clear that only through dialogue and collaboration can effective responses to structural challenges affecting these regions be found. In this context, FORCADELL reaffirmed its alignment with a forward-looking agenda focused on sustainability, equity, and long-term economic development.
Participation in this event represented an opportunity to contribute to strategic dialogue, share best practices, and strengthen alliances across sectors to move toward structural solutions that meet current social and economic needs.
