FORCADELL advises the Consulate General of India on the lease of its first permanent headquarters in Barcelona

FORCADELL has advised the Consulate General of India in Barcelona on the lease of its first permanent headquarters in the city, which will be located in the Torre Allianz. In this way, the headquarters is situated near Plaça Espanya and Sants Station, in one of the main office corridors of the Catalan capital.

Until now, the Indian diplomatic representation occupied temporary spaces. With this operation, it establishes itself permanently in Barcelona to provide continuous service to the growing Indian community residing in Catalonia.

Torre Allianz, an emblematic location in Barcelona

The new consular headquarters will occupy the 16th and 17th floors of Torre Allianz, the highest currently available. Its installation makes the Consulate the building’s new external tenant and will allow it to enjoy privileged views of the city. The property, whose two floors had until now been occupied by part of Allianz’s teams and which has started a new stage of opening to other corporate users, has international sustainability certifications LEED Gold and WELL Platinum, ensuring the highest standards in energy efficiency, occupant well-being, and environmental respect, providing a healthy and modern work environment.

The facilities, one of Allianz’s main properties, also include a restaurant-cafeteria with a terrace, which, thanks to its elevated location and panoramic views of Barcelona, provides a distinctive appeal compared to the usual services of this type in corporate buildings.

Its location on Carrer Tarragona offers a central city position with excellent accessibility, thanks to public transport connectivity, and is equipped with services for the occupants of this corporate space.

From FORCADELL, Manel de Bes, Director of the Offices Department, highlighted “the satisfaction of having advised the Consulate General of India in the search for its permanent headquarters in Barcelona. The choice of Torre Allianz reflects the potential of the city’s office market to meet the needs of international institutions.”

With the opening of this diplomatic mission, the consulate will move from being honorary, as it has been since 1968, to becoming a consulate general. It will also have a career diplomat from the country of origin, as well as additional competencies and services to assist its citizens.
